31156 passes Heaton Lodge Junction with 7E34 11.30 Ashton to Lindsay on the 31st October 1988.

31207 pilots 31288 past the former steam shed at Mirfield on the 17th May 1989. A lot more of the shed could be seen then than was visible later, due to tree growth in the interim. The train which the 31s are in charge of is 7E60 Preston Docks to Lindsey. The steam shed has now been demolished in favour of housing.

31304 passes Mirfield Station with 7E34 Ashton to Lindsey on the 17th May 1989.

31319 at Heaton Lodge Junction with a Folly Lane ICI to Seal Sands working. 17th July 1986. The train had come over Standedge.

33202 approaches Mirfield with 2Z01 09.50 Doncaster to Doncaster saloon. 3/5/06. We don't get that many saloons round our way - let alone with 33s at the front. More history - FM Rail or Fragonset - ah Fragonset (in the words of the immortal Jim Murphy)

37221 & 37242 were on what seemed to be a Ford parts train at Heaton Lodge Junction. I've no idea what the working was or why it was routed this way. 27/8/87.

37402 "Bont y Bermo" passes Mirfield Shed with an Arpley to Immingham Enterprise on 22nd October 1997. Pity the sun wasn't out to shine on those car carriers. I wonder what they were doing in the consist?

37411 "Scottish Railway Preservation Society" passes Dewsbury East Junction with 6E70 12.08 Castleton to Doncaster. 37/4s were virtually unknown on this working, but 37411 had obviously been commandeered as it was in the area for the Arriva S & C trains. 19th February 2004.

37509 passes Mirfield Shed with 6Z51 Blackburn to Lackenby. 17/5/89. The train had just started running - hence the "Z" headcode. It later became 6E41.

37518 passes Heaton Lodge Junction with 6E41 Blackburn to Lackenby. 6/11/89.

37706 "Conidae" approaches Heaton Lodge Junction on the slow line, with 6M54 Leeds to Stanlow. 9/3/93.

37706 has just passed Heaton Lodge Jcn with 6E61 Glazebrook to Port Clarence on the 12th August 1993.

37712 passes Mirfield Shed with 6M54 Leeds to Stanlow. 12/5/93. Both single and double-headed 37s could be seen on this train at the time.

40145 "East Lancashire Railway". Near Heaton Lodge Junction. 0Z40 09:53 Warrington Arpley to York Works. 9/5/08.

40145 at Ravensthorpe station on the 24th January 2004 with the "East Lancs Envoy", which was 1Z40 07.15 Rawtenstall to York.

40145 passes through Brighouse with the outward leg of "The Capital Whistler" - 1Z40 06:48 Crewe to Kings Cross, on the 6th September 2003. For this leg of the journey the loco carried the logo of Beaver Sports; the company who sponsored the loco's return to the main line.

47100 passes Heaton Lodge Junction on the 19th September 1986 with 6E17 10.23 Folly Lane to Haverton Hill.

47190 "Pectinidae" passes Mirfield with 6M54 Leeds to Stanlow on the 17th May 1989.

47194 is unusually on the fast lines as it passes Mirfield Shed with 6M54 Leeds to Stanlow on the 6th November 1989.

47197 passes Dewsbury East Junction with a 4Z52 10.56 Stourton to Basford Hall train of empty container flats, on the 19th February 2004. This was to be the last Class 47 that I photographed on a freight for some three years!
